Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced In-House Accountant at an intermediate Chartered Accountant level to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all accounting functions, including the preparation of financial statements, tax filings, and compliance with government regulations. The candidate should have strong experience working with government projects in consultancy firms and be well-versed in financial processes such as raising bills, bill discounting, bank guarantees, overdrafts, and other related financial instruments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
    • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and government regulations.
    • Analyze financial data and generate reports for management to aid in strategic decision-making.
  • Government Project Accounting:
    • Manage the accounting processes for government projects, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements and regulations.
    • Maintain accurate records of project finances and ensure timely submission of required documentation to government authorities.
  • Billing and Invoicing:
    • Well versed with the process of raising bills and invoices to clients, including government agencies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Bill Discounting and Bank Guarantees:
    • Manage bill discounting processes, including coordination with financial institutions for timely realization of funds.
    • Handle bank guarantee applications and maintain records of issued guarantees, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
    • Making bank Guarantee proposals etc
  • Overdraft and Cash Flow Management:
    • Oversee overdraft (OD) facilities, ensuring efficient use and compliance with bank terms.
    • Manage cash flow forecasting and planning to ensure liquidity and optimize working capital.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Filings:
    • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all statutory returns, including GST, TDS, and other applicable taxes.
    • Liaise with auditors and government bodies to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Financial Systems and Controls:
    • Implement and maintain robust financial controls and systems to ensure integrity and accuracy of financial data.
    • Conduct periodic reviews of financial processes to identify areas for improvement.

  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and government accounting standards.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Familiarity with government project lifecycle management and financial reporting requirements.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
