A Business Development Executive is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and presenting data and insights that support the sales team in achieving
their goals. This role also involves interpreting data related to sales performance, market trends, customer behaviour, and competitive intelligence. They work closely with sales managers, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to provide actionable recommendations based on their research findings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Collection: Collect data related to sales performance, customer demographics, market trends, and competitor activities through various sources such as surveys, databases, market research reports, and social media.
2. Data Analysis: Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and correlations that can help improve sales strategies and decision-making. Utilize statistical and data analysis tools to derive meaningful insights.
3. Market Research: Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, target markets, and potential areas for growth. Assess market dynamics and
competitive landscapes to inform sales strategies. Check at various portals such as Indiamart, Justdial, international portals etc. to prepare list of potential
customers, call them to understand their monthly/yearly requirements in detail and submit necessary research reports.
4. Sales Performance Evaluation: Monitor and assess the performance of sales teams, individual sales representatives, and product lines. Identify areas for
improvement and provide recommendations for enhancing sales effectiveness.
5. Customer Analysis: Segment customers based on various criteria such as demographics, behavior, and buying patterns. Understand customer needs and preferences to help tailor sales strategies and customer engagement approaches. Involves approaching prospective customers and prepare desired
reports as may needed.
6. Competitive Intelligence: Stay updated on competitor activities, pricing strategies, and market positioning. Provide insights on how to gain a
competitive advantage.
7. Reporting: Prepare and present reports and dashboards summarizing research findings and actionable recommendations to sales and management
teams. Use data visualization tools to make complex information more accessible. Effective communication required for real time decision making.
8. Forecasting: Develop sales forecasts based on historical data and market trends. Assist in setting sales targets and goals.
9. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, product development, and finance, to ensure alignment and
informed decision-making.
10. Technology Utilization: Use data analytics software, CRM systems, and other relevant tools to streamline data collection and analysis processes.
