  • Travel: Travel may be required for supplier visits, client meetings, product demonstrations, and trade shows.
  • Work Location: Office-based with lot of fieldwork required for client visits and site evaluations.
  • Team Collaboration: Close collaboration with sales teams, logistics, R&D, and product management to deliver customer solutions and meet business objectives.

Job Description :

Role Overview:

The Technical Support – Lithium Cells (Import and Corporate Sales) will provide critical technical assistance to corporate clients, guiding them on the selection and application of lithium-ion cells in large-scale projects or enterprise applications. This role will involve managing the technical aspects of imported lithium-ion cells, ensuring that they meet the needs of corporate clients, providing ongoing support, and assisting the sales team in securing corporate contracts. The individual will also play an integral role in coordinating the importation process, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and working closely with suppliers to maintain product quality and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Corporate Sales Support:

  • Pre-Sales Technical Consultation: Collaborate with the corporate sales team to provide detailed technical consultations to corporate clients, helping them choose the right lithium-ion cell solutions for their large-scale applications (e.g., energy storage systems, electric vehicles, industrial equipment).
  • Proposal Development: Assist in the creation of comprehensive sales proposals that include technical specifications, pricing, product performance data, and customization options to meet the client’s requirements.
  • Customer Presentations & Demos: Lead technical presentations and product demonstrations for corporate clients, showcasing the features, benefits, and performance advantages of lithium-ion cells.
  • Solution Design & Customization: Work closely with corporate clients to design custom battery solutions, ensuring that the lithium-ion cells meet specific project needs in terms of capacity, safety, lifecycle, and performance under various operational conditions.

2. Technical Support for Corporate Clients:

  • Ongoing Technical Support: Provide continuous technical support to corporate clients post-sale, assisting with any issues related to product performance, integration, and optimization of lithium-ion systems.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Address and resolve any technical issues that arise with lithium-ion cells or battery packs in customer applications. This may include technical troubleshooting, recommending solutions, and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Client Training & Education: Offer training sessions to corporate clients on the best practices for installing, using, and maintaining lithium-ion cells. Provide materials such as manuals, technical documentation, and FAQs to help clients fully understand the product.
  • Customer Feedback: Gather customer feedback on product performance, address concerns, and relay information to the product development or operations teams for continuous improvement.

3. Import Coordination & Compliance:

  • Supplier & Import Management: Oversee the procurement and importation of lithium-ion cells from suppliers, ensuring that shipments arrive on time and meet regulatory requirements. Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure smooth transportation, customs clearance, and delivery of products.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all imported lithium-ion products comply with local and international safety and environmental regulations (e.g., UN38.3, IEC 62133, UL 2054, EPR E waste, MSDS, EPC, Transport Safety, CB). Work closely with the legal and regulatory teams to ensure all importation processes meet industry standards.
  • Documentation & Certification: Ensure that all necessary import documentation (e.g., certificates of origin, safety data sheets, test reports) is obtained and maintained. Manage the certification process for lithium-ion cells to ensure they meet the required safety standards for both import and end-use.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Manage inventory levels to meet corporate sales demand, ensuring that lithium-ion cells are available for delivery to customers as per contract agreements and sales forecasts.

4. Collaboration with Corporate Sales Teams:

  • Sales Strategy Support: Work closely with the corporate sales team to align technical offerings with business strategies. Assist in identifying opportunities for cross-selling and upselling lithium-ion products based on client needs.
  • Lead Generation & Client Outreach: Support the sales team in lead generation and outreach to potential corporate clients, helping to identify new business opportunities in sectors like renewable energy, automotive, and large-scale manufacturing.
  • Key Account Management: Provide high-level technical support for key corporate accounts, ensuring that the client’s requirements are met and that any issues are promptly addressed to maintain strong relationships.

5. Product Knowledge & Market Insight:

  • Technical Knowledge Sharing: Stay updated on the latest advancements in lithium-ion cell technology, market trends, and regulatory changes. Share relevant information with the corporate sales team to enhance their sales pitches and client interactions.
  • Product Improvement Feedback: Provide insights to the product development and R&D teams based on client feedback, industry trends, and technical challenges encountered with lithium-ion products.
  • Market Research: Conduct research on the competitive landscape, customer needs, and emerging trends in lithium-ion technologies to provide strategic input for business development and sales growth.

6. Cells Procurement

·       Research on Lithium Cells manufactured across the Globe

·       Procuring samples from various companies keeping abreast to latest technologies and chemistries across all manufacturers

·       Performing Quality checks on samples and maintaining quality reports updated

·       Understanding the different ways of procurement, pricing comparing Quality

Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:

  • Lithium-Ion Battery Technology: In-depth understanding of lithium-ion cell technology, including various chemistries (e.g., LFP, NCM), performance parameters (energy density, charge/discharge cycles, efficiency), and battery pack integration.
  • Battery Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of international safety standards and certifications (e.g., UN38.3, IEC 62133, UL 2054, EPR E waste, MSDS, EPC, Transport Safety, CB), and experience ensuring that imported products meet these requirements. BIS rules and regulations in India, keeping updated on changes regularly.
  • Troubleshooting & Technical Support: Strong troubleshooting skills to address product performance issues in a variety of applications (e.g., energy storage systems, electric vehicles, industrial applications).
  • Competition Analysis: Knowledge of the products imported by competitors, Product Quality, Product Pricing, Product Usage, Commercials, etc.
  • Market Knowledge: Products available in market, Companies or retail users of products, Current Demand and Supply situation in Market, Estimating future demand in Market, etc.

 

Sales & Communication Skills:

  • Corporate Sales Support: Ability to collaborate effectively with corporate sales teams and provide technical expertise during client interactions and proposal development.
  • Presentation & Negotiation Skills: Skilled in delivering technical presentations to corporate clients, explaining complex concepts in a clear, customer-friendly way. Able to negotiate terms and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Client Relationship Management: Strong ability to maintain and grow relationships with key corporate clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.

Logistics & Import Knowledge: (Preferable but not necessary)

  • Import & Supply Chain Coordination: Understanding of the importation process, including working with suppliers, managing customs clearance, handling tariffs, and ensuring timely delivery of products.
  • Regulatory Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with regulations and certifications for importing lithium-ion cells, including safety, environmental, and product quality standards.

Education & Experience:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Energy Systems, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field. People with sound knowledge of Lithium based cells, Lithium battery packs and sound market knowledge, the education criteria can be waived off.
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of experience in technical support, product management, or sales engineering related to lithium-ion technology, energy storage, or battery systems.
    • 2-4 years of experience in corporate sales support or business development for large-scale, technical products.
    • Experience in import/export operations and compliance management related to lithium-ion products is highly desirable.
