Position Overview:
The Commercial cum Admin Head will oversee and manage the university’s financial operations, administrative functions, and commercial activities. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with a strong background in finance, accounts, commercial activities, procurement, vendor management, human resources, event management, and general administration. This role is crucial to ensuring the university’s operations run efficiently and in line with budgetary, legal, and strategic goals.


 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Finance & Accounts:
    • Manage financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, audits, and compliance with statutory regulations.
    • Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and taxation requirements.
    • Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to senior management.
    • Ensure timely preparation of financial statements and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  2. Commercial Activity:
    • Oversee and manage commercial contracts and agreements related to university operations, ensuring compliance and profitability.
    • Identify and implement revenue-generation strategies, including partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations.
    • Monitor financial performance and provide strategic insights to improve commercial outcomes.
  3. Purchase & Vendor Management:
    • Oversee procurement processes and ensure the university gets best value for goods and services.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and quality service.
    • Negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance to ensure optimal terms.
  4. Human Resources:
    • Lead the HR function, including recruitment, employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, and performance management.
    • Develop HR policies and ensure compliance with labor laws.
    • Organize and oversee employee training and development programs.
  5. Event Management:
    • Oversee the planning and execution of university events, such as conferences, workshops, and student functions.
    • Manage logistics, vendor coordination, budgeting, and ensure successful execution of events within budget and on time.
    • Work with internal stakeholders to meet event objectives and enhance the university's reputation.
  6. Administration:
    • Oversee general administrative functions, including office management, facilities management, and supporting academic and non-academic departments.
    • Implement and maintain efficient systems and processes for administrative operations.
    • Liaise with various departments to streamline operations and improve overall efficiency.
    • Monitor and manage office supplies, equipment, and maintenance schedules.
  7. Compliance & Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with university policies, legal requirements, and regulatory standards.
    • Identify areas of operational risk and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard the university's interests.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with a strong understanding of finance and accounting principles with minimum experience of 15 Years.
  • Proven experience in finance, commercial activities, vendor management, procurement, human resources, and administration (preferably within a university or educational institution).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
