Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Credit
Underwriter will be responsible for assessing and analyzing loan applications
for the Secured Business Loan - Loans Against Property (LAP) & Unsecured
Business Loan product. This role requires a thorough understanding of credit
risk assessment, strong analytical skills, and the ability to make sound credit
decisions. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in credit
underwriting within an NBFC and a deep understanding of LAP products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credit
Assessment: Evaluate loan applications by analyzing
financial statements, credit reports, property valuations, and other
relevant documents.
- Risk
Analysis: Identify and assess potential risks
associated with each loan application and make informed decisions to
mitigate those risks.
- Decision
Making: Approve or recommend credit decisions
based on the analysis of the applicant's creditworthiness, repayment
capacity, and collateral value.
- Documentation
Review: Ensure all necessary documentation is
complete, accurate, and compliant with internal policies and regulatory
requirements.
- Collaboration: Work
closely with the sales, legal, and operations teams to ensure a smooth and
efficient loan approval process.
- Credit
Policies: Develop, review, and update credit
policies and procedures to ensure they are in line with industry best
practices and regulatory standards.
- Reporting:
Prepare and present detailed credit reports and risk assessments to senior
management.
- Continuous
Improvement: Identify opportunities for process
improvements and suggest practical solutions to enhance the credit
underwriting process.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. ( Postgraduate would be given preference)
- Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in credit underwriting of business loans, with at least 2-3 years mandatory experience in Loans Against Property (LAP) within an NBFC or financial institution.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of credit risk assessment, financial analysis, property valuation, and RBI regulations related to LAP.
- Skills: Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills. Proficiency in credit underwriting software and MS Office suite.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
