- Experience in forging / auto component / engineering manufacturing industry

A. Production Planning & Scheduling
1. Prepare monthly, weekly and daily production plans based on customer schedules,
2. orders, forecasts and inventory requirements.
3. Prepare part-wise, machine-wise and process-wise production schedules.
4. Plan production considering machine capacity, die availability, raw material,
5. manpower, maintenance and process constraints.
6. Monitor Plan vs. Actual Production on a daily basis and initiate corrective actions.
7. Identify bottlenecks and take necessary action to improve capacity utilization.
8. Ensure optimum utilization of forging presses, hammers, cutting machines and
9. associated facilities.
10. Plan production priorities based on customer delivery requirements and critical
11. orders.
12. Develop contingency plans for machine breakdowns, material shortages, quality
13. issues and manpower constraints.
B. Material Planning & Inventory Control
- Prepare Raw Material Requirement Plans based on production schedules.
- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores to ensure timely availability of steel billets, bars,
consumables and packing materials.
3.Maintain appropriate RM, WIP and Finished Goods inventory levels.
4.Monitor material shortages and ensure production is not affected due to nonavailability of materials.
5. Review slow-moving, excess and obsolete inventory and initiate corrective action.

C. Capacity Planning
- • Prepare machine and process capacity plans for monthly and annual requirements.
- • Analyse existing capacity against customer demand and future business

- • Identify capacity constraints and recommend additional shifts, overtime,
- • subcontracting or capital investment.
- • Monitor capacity utilization and improve machine loading.
- • Support management in capacity expansion and long-term business planning.
D. Customer Delivery & Order Management
- • Ensure production planning is aligned with customer delivery schedules.
- • Monitor On-Time Delivery (OTD) and schedule adherence.
- • Review customer-wise pending orders and delivery commitments.
- • Coordinate with Sales & Marketing for changes in customer schedules and priorities.
- • Identify potential delivery risks in advance and implement recovery plans.
- • Minimize customer line stoppages, emergency production and premium freight.
Skills:
To lead the Production Planning & Control function of the Forging Plant and ensure timely
availability of materials, optimum utilization of plant capacity and achievement of production
and customer delivery requirements.
The position will be responsible for developing and controlling the complete planning cycle
from customer requirement ? raw material planning ? forging plan ? heat treatment
/ downstream process planning ? subcontracting ? ?inished goods ? dispatch, ensuring
optimum inventory and adherence to customer delivery schedules.
