Merchant Banking – Fund Finance
The Merchant Banking business unit oversees investment management activities , including the raising of new debt and equity capital, the formation of new ventures, the strategic acquisition and disposition of homes and the management and operation of portfolio investments. The Merchant Banking business unit collaborates closely with the other business units, including the Development and Operator business units, as part of the fully integrated platform.
The Merchant Banking division is seeking to expand it’s global footprint in Mumbai, India, with a goal of establishing a team of professionals working across multi-disciplinary functional areas in close collaboration with U.S.-based personnel.
The role is within Merchant Banking Division and will support the Fund Finance team. We are seeking a strong Analyst to assist in the analyses of fund portfolio performance and forecasting. In this role, the analyst will gain valuable experience in real estate finance, and learn about venture strategy, asset management, liquidity cash management, financial reporting and performance, budget modeling, and valuation.
Job Description (Role & Responsibilities)
• Partner with Asset Management, Private Equity, Accounting, and Investor Relations to analyze monthly financial performance across 40,000+ homes in multiple funds.
• Learn how to develop, maintain, and improve complex investment and fund-level models, ensuring accuracy.
• Assist with the detailed analysis of monthly financial statements to understand trends and drive operating performance across the platform.
• Work on projects as assigned but also have strategic responsibility of certain functions and responsibilities of the team.
• Assist in the production of the annual budget and forward forecasts outlining performance for both cash flow and GAAP reporting.
• Production of projected annual forecasts and quarterly re-forecasts.
• Production of various portfolio financial reports and deliverables (i.e. Same Store Reports, Daily Liquidity Report)
• Assist in the production of quarterly updated valuations for FMV financials.

Qualifications:
• Education: Graduate/ bachelor’s degree / MBA with financial market understanding a plus
• Experience (2- 5 years) :
• Strong analytical background with experience in the review of financial statements and comparative analysis of fund performance.
• Budget and forecast modeling experience preferred.
• Experience with Excel modeling and other Microsoft Office skills (i.e., PPT).
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple simultaneous projects and tasks.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Effective interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
