Role Overview

We are looking for a Central Collections Leader to oversee and strengthen our secured loan collections framework across India.
This is a national, centrally anchored role based out of Mumbai, responsible for ensuring high-quality recoveries and minimal delinquency across our Home Loan, LAP, and Used Commercial Vehicle portfolio — spanning both branch-led and non-branch (partnership) business.

At the outset, this will be an individual leadership role, driving collections through structured follow-ups, coordination with branches, and proactive monitoring from the central office.
Over time, as the portfolio expands, the incumbent will build and lead a distributed collections network, setting up local teams and recovery partners across key branch and non-branch markets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee collections across all secured lending products (HL, LAP, and Used CV) for all branches and partnership locations.
  • Build a central monitoring and early warning system to track overdue cases, NACH presentations, and repayment trends across products and geographies.
  • Work closely with branch sales teams and central operations to ensure early follow-up, timely escalations, and strong field recoveries.
  • Maintain daily DPD tracking dashboards and initiate pre-delinquency actions to prevent slippage from current to higher buckets.
  • Coordinate directly with key customers on high-value or sensitive delinquent accounts as the company’s senior collections representative.
  • Liaise with local market intermediaries, agencies, and collection partners to enhance last-mile recovery effectiveness.
  • Possess a strong understanding of legal tools, processes, and frameworks essential for effective collection management, including initiation of legal notices, SARFAESI proceedings, repossessions, and coordination with empanelled legal partners.
  • Maintain a strong connect network across Maharashtra, with fluency in Marathi and familiarity with smaller market dynamics.
  • Evaluate and onboard collection technology tools and digital solutions to automate communication, reminders, and performance monitoring.
  • Partner with internal Risk, Finance, and Legal teams to provide insights on collection performance, portfolio stress, and recovery trends.
  • Drive a cost-effective collection framework by balancing in-house control with external partnerships.
  • Develop and implement SOPs, MIS templates, and escalation matrices for a consistent collection process across all markets.
Lead the evolution of the collections function — from a centralized setup to a structured pan-India network with local teams and partners as the business scales.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 9-10 years of experience in collections for secured lending portfolios (LAP, HL, Used CV) in an NBFC or HFC.(Existing Salary Should not be more than 15L).
  • Proven experience in managing pan-India collections operations, with strong on-ground recovery instincts.
  • Working knowledge of legal collections and enforcement processes related to secured lending.
  • Deep understanding of Maharashtra markets, customer profiles, and local business ecosystems.
  • Fluency in Marathi and Hindi is essential; working knowledge of other regional languages is an advantage.
  • Tech-savvy and data-driven, with familiarity in collection systems, dashboards, and digital reminder tools.
  • Hands-on approach — comfortable in both strategic reviews and on-ground escalations.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, able to build processes and teams from scratch in a fast-growing NBFC environment.
